Last month, Hillcrest Elementary School in Austin held a Scholastic Book Fair for its student body.

While Candace Hennessey, the school’s librarian, looks forward to and organizes this special event each year, it’s Hilcrest’s students who celebrate the occasion most.

“The Fair marks one of the best days of the year for kids as it offers the rare (and for younger kids, the very first!) chance to shop for themselves, whether it’s discovering a new genre or picking up the latest book in their favorite series,” Candace noted.

However, with the Fair’s inventory at an average cost of $8 a book, many of Hilcrest’s 370 students lack the financial means for even one purchase. Donations from outside organizations ensure each student can experience book joy with their classmates and leave the Fair with something they love.

“The majority of our students would not have been able to purchase a book from the fair without Ally Medical – South’s support. We are so appreciative and look forward to partnering again with Ally Medical in the future.”

Ally Medical is proud to partner with educators who make such a tremendous difference to our communities and for our schoolchildren.

“The Fair is ultimately a place where inspiring connections are madewith characters, fellow fans, and a lifelong love of reading.”
